EBSD is an important tool
for materials characterisation today
showing the crystal structure and the
texture of polycrystalline materials in
the form of crystal orientation maps
(COM). The SUPRA™ with the large
analytical chamber and the high current
GEMINI® column is ideally suited to
perform EBSD. All SUPRA™ specimen stages
offer high stage tilt needed for EBSD
investigation with the EBSD detector
mounted on the left of the specimen
chamber normal to the tilt axis. The EDS
detector is positioned above the EBSD
detector at 35°
takeoff angle to allow simultaneous data
collection. For this important
analytical application the SUPRA™ is the
perfect tool combined with unparalleled
ultra high resolution imaging.
