Service Engineer (3 positions)

Location: 1 position in Puchong, 1 position in Penang and 1 position in     Singapore.

Traveling requirement: Greater than 60% 

Position description:

• The Service Engineer provides competent user support through the performance of on-site installation, servicing and repair of allocated sophisticated systems.

• Completes an installation from beginning to end, signing off on customer acceptance.

• Checks and assures operational performance and quality of system during warranty, preventive maintenance or repairs.

• Instructs user in the operation and maintenance of the new and earlier generations of installed systems.

• Serves as company liaison with users on technical matters.

• Interprets user needs and clarifies resolved problems to sales personnel, customer support representatives or engineers.

The Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering.

• Minimum of 2 - 3 years working experience

• Possess own transport and willing to travel

• Able to read and interpret schematics, component-level circuitry and vacuum diagram

• Knowledge in Image Processing, Microscopy, high voltage power & electronics, high or ultra-high vacuum, ion / electron optics will be an added advantage

·    Ability to interface with customers on a regular, ad-hoc and emergency basis

·      Capable of receiving detailed instructions on complex service tasks

·       Independent and needs no supervision on routine tasks; minimal supervision and instruction from superior on complex tasks

·        Imaginative and practical in solving complex problems that require analysis of the situations or data provided.  

·      Upholds high level of professionalism and company policies to solving a variety of service problems.

·        Must demonstrate a clear working knowledge and ability of common windows-based software for reporting. This includes Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Additional preference for experience with ERP and/or reporting software modules.

·         Fully trained Service Engineer with the required knowledge.

·      Good communication skills are required as this position works regularly with customers, various internal departments such as logistics, call center, application and R&D.

·         Ability to work independently.

·     Must be able to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally, nationally and internationally as required.
